Who are we?

Founded in 1998, the United Kingdom–Singapore Students’ Council represents Singaporean students across the UK and Ireland. We connect university societies, share resources and opportunities, and support students wherever they study—including those without a Singapore Society on campus.

President’s
Message

Our aim is simple: to ensure that even while studying far from home, our students feel at home—through shared experiences, meaningful connections, and a strong sense of community.

Ethan Phua · 28th President

Dear Fellow Members, Partners and Friends of the UKSSC,

As the 28th President of the United Kingdom Singapore Students’ Council (UKSSC), it is my distinct honour to serve Singaporean students studying in the UK and Ireland. I am deeply grateful to be joined in this effort by an exceptional Executive Committee, dedicated Subcommittee Members, and the UKSSC’s many partners and friends.

Our aim is simple: to ensure that even while studying far from home, our students feel at home – through shared experiences, meaningful connections, and a strong sense of community.

Building a Connected Community

The UKSSC is committed to strengthening the Singaporean student community across the UK and Ireland. We strive to create opportunities for students to come together, build lasting friendships, and engage in a diverse range of activities with fellow Singaporean and ASEAN peers — from social gatherings and cultural events to sports and outdoor adventures.

At the same time, we seek to serve as a bridge between our students and partners. Whether you are looking to connect with fellow Singaporean students or engage with our wider network, the UKSSC aims to be a trusted platform for meaningful outreach and collaboration. Through social media, networking events and partnership initiatives, we aim to work with a diverse array of partners and organisations to deepen engagement with our community.

Supporting Opportunities and Growth

We recognise that navigating internships and career opportunities can be challenging in today’s competitive environment. The UKSSC is committed to supporting students by connecting them with opportunities through partnerships with leading companies, government agencies, and alumni networks. Through initiatives such as our flagship career fair BlastOff!, outreach events, and curated opportunities shared on our platforms, we aim to equip students with the resources and connections they need to thrive.

Ensuring Every Voice is Heard

The UKSSC serves Singapore Societies and students across the UK and Ireland — whether you are studying in London, Oxford, Newcastle, Glasgow, Cardiff, or Dublin. We will continue to act as a bridge: between universities, between regions, and between Singapore and the UK. Our goal is to ensure that opportunities remain accessible, that students in smaller universities feel supported, and that no one feels isolated by distance. We are also here to support prospective students considering the UK and Ireland, as well as those preparing to begin their journey.

We value your feedback, ideas, and perspectives. Please feel free to reach out to us anytime at enquiries@theukssc.co.uk — whether you have suggestions, questions, or simply need support.

To all members: the UKSSC is here to serve you, to listen to you, and to build a UK- and Ireland-wide Singaporean student community where no one feels too small, too far, or too alone to belong.

Thank you for your support.
