At a glance

  • Purpose: the UKSSC exists to create a vibrant Singaporean student community across the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, promote collaboration between partner societies and represent the wider student body.
  • Membership and partnership: eligible university-based Singaporean student organisations may register as Partner Societies. Registered societies can attend general meetings and, when active, vote on UKSSC business and elections.
  • Governance: the elected Core comprises the President and Vice-Presidents for Operations, Finance and Outreach. They lead the wider Executive Committee, which delivers the Council’s work. An Advisory Panel and Board of Directors provide continuity and oversight.
  • Meetings and elections: the constitution sets rules for normal, partner, annual and extraordinary general meetings, alongside annual elections for the four Core roles.
  • Changing the constitution: amendments may be proposed by the Executive Committee or Partner Societies, discussed at the relevant general meeting and require a two-thirds majority of Partner Society votes to pass.
