Privacy Notice

Last updated: 6 October 2026

Who is responsible for your information?

The United Kingdom-Singapore Students’ Council (UKSSC) is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. Questions about this notice or requests concerning your information can be sent to enquiries@theukssc.co.uk.

What we collect

When you use our contact form, we collect your enquiry type, name, email address, message and basic technical information needed to receive and protect the submission. Please do not include sensitive personal information in your message.

We may also receive information you choose to send us by email or through our social channels. Following an external link, such as Instagram, AnyFlip or the BlastOFF! website, means that service’s own privacy notice applies.

Why we use it

We use contact details and messages to respond to enquiries, support partner societies, consider partnerships, administer events and keep an appropriate record of correspondence. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating the UKSSC and responding to people who contact us. Where we ask to send optional marketing or mailing-list updates, we will rely on consent and provide a way to withdraw it.

We do not sell personal information or use contact-form submissions for unrelated marketing.

Who processes it

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Contact-form submissions are transmitted through Cloudflare Pages Functions and sent to the UKSSC by Resend, our transactional email provider. They process information for us under their own security and data-processing terms. Our email hosting provider will also process the resulting email. Information may be processed outside the United Kingdom; where this happens, we rely on the safeguards used by those providers, such as approved contractual protections.

How long we keep it

Contact-form messages and related correspondence are normally kept for up to 12 months after an enquiry is resolved. We may keep partnership, financial or governance correspondence for up to six years where it is reasonably required for accountability or legal obligations. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.

Cookies, local storage and analytics

This website does not currently use advertising cookies or analytics. It stores your light or dark theme preference in your browser’s local storage so the site can remember your choice. External sites and embedded services may set their own cookies when you choose to visit or use them.

Our What’s on page shows Instagram posts using Instagram’s official embeds. When these load, your browser connects to Instagram (operated by Meta), which may receive your IP address and browser details and may set its own cookies, including if you are logged in to Instagram. Embeds only load as you scroll to them. Meta’s use of this information is covered by the Instagram Privacy Policy.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of its use, portability, or to object to processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time. These rights can be subject to legal limits.

Contact enquiries@theukssc.co.uk to make a request. We may need to verify your identity. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
